Four Themes of Biblical America
Part 1 of 3 View video
|
Carman: America was founded on Godly principles by men who prayed and sought their answers to governmental questions in the Bible. And it only stands to reason, if a country strays away from the word of God it strays away from the blessing of God.
Carman:
In the 40's and 50's student problems were chewing gum and talking, in the 90's rape and murder are the trend. The only hope for America is Jesus,
| |
Flip Benham: We're not
dealing with a battle about euthanasia or abortion or homosexuality or
clean needles. We're dealing with two worldviews, a culture of death
versus a culture of life. And the homosexual worldview is exactly the
same as the worldview of abortion. You know what it is? It's my
rights my body my choice my thing you don't tell me what to do I'll do
what I want whenever I want to and the one commandment I have is thou
shalt not get in my face and don't you dare judge me. On the other
side of that is the worldview that brings life which says, you are not
your own, you were bought with a price therefore glorify God with your
body, that it's not my body I don't belong to me anymore...
You see it's not a battle about abortion or homosexuality, it's a
battle about whose laws reign or who is Lord. And we're saying that
Jesus is Lord and Mickey is not.
Peter Marshall Jr.: The whole understanding of Constitutional
government in America is based on a Biblical heritage. The problem
today is, we've lost our understanding of that because we really do
not understand Constitutionally what America is built on, because
we've lost the understanding of the Biblical basis for that
Constitution. | |
Jerry Falwell: This nation is Biblically based... This
nation was built upon those principals called the Judeo-Christian
ethic. Judeo - principles out of the Old Testament. Christian -
principles out of the New Testament. And when you take those
principles of the Old and New Testament, Judeo-Christian ethic, you
have a society called America in its beginnings.
| |
Roy McMillan: I believe governments are mandated to recognize
God as sovereign over nations just as we believe God is sovereign over
individuals.
| |
Roy Moore: This government was founded upon a belief in God,
on a belief in God, the laws of nature and of nature's God...
This was a nation established on a belief in God and God's law. And
certainly the ACLU would have us change that.
Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN): But I must say, to be fair to
the ACLU, the problem is not with institutions like the ACLU or People
for the American Way or Planned Parenthood or any other organization
with whom we may fundamentally and philosophically disagree. The
problem is that we simply lack the knowledge necessary to engage these
people whose personal beliefs are fundamentally and philosophically
antithetical to the heritage of the United States of America.
Why do I refer to their personal beliefs? Because the historical facts
simply do not support their perspective.
| |
Herb Titus: This is a nation that is
built upon the
assumption that the book of Genesis is historically, literally true.
This nation was not founded by people who believed in the Darwinian
theory of evolution.
| |
Charles Phillips: We Christians have
willfully handed over our government to the secular humanists. We
have given them the authority to make the rules; the results speak
for themselves.
| |
Promise Keeper speaker: We've eliminated
the authority of the Bible from the public schools.
Pat Robertson: So if the United
States wants to embrace 'degrading passions' according to the Bible,
something that the Bible says is an abomination against God, we're not
in any way, shape or form hating anybody, this is not a message of
hate, this is a message of redemption, but if a condition like this
will bring about the destruction of your nation, if it will bring
about terrorist bombs, it'll bring about earthquakes, tornadoes and
possibly a meteor, it isn't necessarily something we should open our
arms to.
| |
Charles Phillips: But the time has
come for us to get out of the stands and onto the playing field.
Star Parker: [We have] developed in
this country a real rejection of God, and now we need to join forces
to push back
this darkness... Black America is primed to help us in pushing back
darkness... Now we're at real war between secularism and Christian
principles guiding and leading our young people and our country.
| |
Flip Benham: And we will win. We are not looking for a place at the enemy's table where we can negotiate with him. We are looking to kick the table over in the name of Jesus Christ and take over!
